Why is Lite free instead of a time-limited trial?
Because the per-launch counters already create natural friction: a heavy
user hits the cap quickly, a light user (one query a day) might never
notice. We'd rather you keep Chartstone installed indefinitely on Lite
than feel pressured into Pro just because a 14-day clock ran out.
Do counters carry across launches?
No. Each time you start the app, all three counters reset to 0 against
the Lite caps. This is also true for Pro — the counters exist, but the
caps are effectively infinite.
Per-user or per-machine?
Per user. Pro is tied to your Stripe customer email. You can run
Chartstone on your laptop and your desktop from the same subscription.
What if my role changes?
The subscription is yours, not your employer's. If you leave a job and
take Chartstone with you, your Pro subscription comes with you.
